Tim Dumas awarded the rank of Eagle Scout

Thursday, November 21, 2002

Tim Dumas met before his Boy Scout Council's Eagle Board of Review on Thursday November 21, 2002.  The board of review is not an examination and it is not a retesting of the tests the Eagle Scout candidate has already passed.  The review board consisted of six adults who asked him questions about his entire Scout career as well as his life experiences.  Tim answered questions about his Eagle Scout project, the construction of Henry Garnsey Canine Recreation Park.  After approximately a 40 minute period of reviewing and questioning Tim about his Scouting career, Tim was officially notified he had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. This is a great honor as only about 4% of all Scouts ever achieve this rank.  Congratulations to Tim Dumas, Eagle Scout!

Tim Dumas recognized as the MSPCA's 2003 Young Hero

May 15, 2003

The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or MSPCA, named Tim Dumas the 2003 Young Hero for demonstrating "bravery, compassion or exceptional initiative on behalf of one or more animals,".  Tim Dumas, son of Gary Dumas of Medway and Joan Dumas of Hudson,  was honored May 15, 2003 at the Animal Hall of Fame Dinner held at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Library and Museum in Boston.  Tim is the fourth recipient of the Young Hero award. This honor isn't awarded every year.  Tim Dumas' case was brought to the MSPCA's attention by the group's former president, Gus Thornton, who read a newspaper article last year. Tim didn't know he was nominated until he was told he won in a letter dated April 9, 2003. Congratulations to Tim Dumas.
