Dog Park Etiquette

Henry Garnsey Canine Recreation Park

Here are a few words on basic Dog Park Etiquette which you should understand before you visit the park.

Do not hang anything on the fence or gates.  This will help keep the dog park looking clean and prevents damaging the fence and gates.

Dogs barking uncontrollably will incite the other dogs to bark and anger surrounding neighbors prompting complaints. If you cannot control your dog's barking, you should leash your dog and remove him from the dog park.

Remove dogs who play too rough. If your dog is making other dog owners uncomfortable, go to another area of the dog park or perhaps you may want to leave the park and return another time.

Bring plenty of water from home for your pet!  Drinking water is not available at the dog park.

To help ensure the success of Henry Garnsey Canine Recreation Park, PICK UP POOP!!!  This is probably the most important thing you can do.  If you see any "extras", please pick it up.  You can easily help educate other dog owners in the park. It's not too difficult to ask someone if you could get them a poop bag.  Poop bag dispensers are installed at the park.

Dispensers have been installed that are designed to hold plastic grocery bags.  Please help keep these dispensers full (and park maintenance costs down) by bringing extra plastic bags from home.

We want you to help enforce Henry Garnsey Canine Recreation Park rules.  Do not rely on others to help keep the dog park safe & clean.  This is your park.  If you observe a dog owner in the park who has flagrant disregard for the Henry Garnsey Canine Recreation Park rules and you do not feel comfortable confronting the owner, you should make a complaint to the Medway Animal Control Officer at 508-533-3251, e-mail  .  The Medway Animal Control Officer can also be reached by the Medway Police Department which is located just a short walk from the park about 1/4 mile west on Village Street.
