Tim Dumas, shown here in the dog park with a couple of his friends, was honored by the MSPCA with the 2003 Young Hero award for winning local support and raising private funds to create the Henry Garnsey Canine Recreation Park in Medway, MA.  Tim's dream was to create a public place in his home town where dogs are allowed to run and play, unfettered by leashes.  The MSPCAs Young Hero award is presented to young person who has demonstrated bravery, compassion, or exceptional initiative on behalf of one or more animals.  For more information about The MSPCA Animal Hall of Fame, including how to support this educational program, contact Jan Bober, (617) 541-5005, jbober@mspca.org.  To learn more about Tim's story, go to our background page.
